For the VARG SM we took the frame from the VARG EX platform. No bike in our range is ridden as dynamically as a supermoto: hard on the brakes into a corner, deep lean angles on tarmac, kerbs and drain covers mid-corner, then full throttle out. The EX frame's flex and structural values are exactly what that demands — enough compliance to keep the front tyre reading the road under braking and on the side of the tyre, enough stiffness to stay precise when the surface turns to concrete. Around it we tuned the geometry for supermoto use, changing offset, suspension length, spring rate, travel and valving to find the balance between comfort and performance.
The Stark VARG features a low, optimized center of gravity near the rider's lower leg position, making the bike feel significantly lighter and more agile. This design ensures optimal weight distribution, delivering an unmatched featherweight riding experience. Drawing on expertise from engineers, designers, and renowned motorcycle designer Tony Foale, the team developed an ultralight tubular chromoly steel frame, balancing exceptional flex and strength at a weight no competitor comes close to.
The aluminum subframe uses straight tubular pipes and forged connections for the best compromise between weight, strength and resistance. Integrated forged and machined lift handles reinforce the construction and provide a comfortable, practical handle for lifting and positioning the bike. The mid-mount linkage bracket on the swingarm gives generous ground clearance, and advanced aluminum casting technology means further weight savings over competitors. A carbon fiber front subframe carries the front spoiler assembly and seat unit, streamlining ergonomics without unnecessary or unwanted flex, and serves as a funnel directing airflow to the battery, motor and radiator located under the seat. The fully machined triple clamp with integrated bar mounts saves 246 grams and, combined with the SM-specific geometry, offers the right balance of stiffness and flex for ultra-precise handling without feeling harsh or rigid.
